Samuel Décary est accepté à l’École nationale de théâtre à l’âge de 19 ans. Aujourd’hui, il reste marqué par plusieurs coups de coeur durant ses quatre années de formation, tels que créer un spectacle avec Simon Lacroix, travailler Racine avec Luc Bourgeois, être un clown tragicomique avec Louis Fortier, faire des lectures dirigées par Anne Dorval et actualiser Molière avec Olivier Choinière. En plus d’être sportif depuis son enfance, avec ses cours de ballet, de danse contemporaine, de danse-théâtre, de clown et de masque, Samuel est un acteur conscient de son corps et capable de s’en servir. Il offre une énergie chargée, bien ancrée, il se lance dans le travail et cherche avec passion. Il aime voir le théâtre comme un jeu d’équipe où l’écoute et le plaisir sont des alliés précieux. Aussi passionné par la musique, Samuel a par ailleurs appris de manière autodidacte le piano, la batterie, la guitare et le saxophone.

Graduated at the National Theater School of Canada in 2019, Samuel is driven by intensity, sensitivity, and passion. He always had trouble to stand still since the kindergarten and is always looking for fun. As the same reason we call it “a play”, Sam is a player. He has always been sporty and always loved music. That’s the perfect mix for him to discover contemporary dance in his first year at NTS. The fact that he fell in love with theater came by his desire to share something strong with a team. Sam is full of energy, he’s engaged in his body and find interest in so many things that sometimes, he has trouble to chose what he’s going to play with. That’s why he learned by himself to play piano, guitar, drum, saxophone, and harmonica. He also plays hockey and baseball since he was 4 years old but loves to play every sport there is in the world. For him, to be an actor is just a way to play all the time with something different as a work. He also loves to find the truth in every character he’s playing like he loves getting to know and understand every human being with sensitivity.
